Understanding Click Metrics
Total Clicks vs Unique Clicks
- Total Clicks - Every click on your link (including repeat visitors)
- Unique Clicks - First-time visitors only (prevents click fraud)
- Non-bot Clicks - Clicks from real users (excludes automated traffic)
Unique Click Detection
Unique clicks are determined by:
- Browser cookies - Tracks if visitor has clicked before
- IP address - Prevents gaming from same location
- 24-hour window - Resets uniqueness after 24 hours
Testing Tip: Clear cookies or use different browsers to see unique clicks increment.
